FaultLines
The world has ended, but your mind is still collapsing.
Fault Lines is an atmospheric, narrative-driven precision platformer built for Trijam. You have exactly 3 minutes to descend through eight fragmented memories—the "8 Rings to Midnight."
At the end of every layer, you will face a memory. How you process that memory alters your Psyche Tiers (Ego, Anchor, Sanity, and Subconscious) and directly rewrites your movement physics.
Hold onto your anger, and your jump height might explode while your movement speed drags. Numb yourself to the pain, and you'll run like the wind but struggle to clear gaps. Your emotional choices dictate whether you reach the final threshold fully unbroken, or fade into the static.
CONTROLS
- Desktop: Left/Right Arrows or A/D to move. Up Arrow, W, or Space to jump.
- Mobile: Fully supported. Use the on-screen touch D-Pad and Action buttons.
DEVELOPER'S NOTE
Built solo from scratch in under 3 hours for Trijam. Powered by a custom single-file HTML5/JS engine with procedural hazards and a dynamic vector renderer. Coded before dawn while the heelers kept watch by the door.

Hi, I like the idea of your game; it is very basic and entertaining. But it would be really good if you worked on the velocity of your character because it jumps really fast. And general controlling could be a little bit smoother. Keep up the good work mate!
Thanks, I actually noticed that myself. It has a slightly on ice feel. I didn't really get a chance to test it to make the deadline for prizes, the screenshot was just me loading in and moving to the center of the screen to confirm the controls worked.
I've played it now since the jam has been live and I've already got quite a few updates in mind once it's over but I'm not going to change the original raw file to keep the integrity of the contest until after it concludes.
You start out more free to move than you are by level eight, depending on your psychological choices. There are actually multiple ways to lock yourself out of progression completely, simply by the choices you make with the memories.
Dev Hint: losing anchor is awesome.
